I am Legion, for we are many (months away)

So, the news is that Legion will arrive “on or before” September 2016.

I’m sure many of you share my own dismay but our aim remains to clear HellFire Citadel on Heroic – we’ll pug if we have to but we’ll do better if we can muster a regular guild group for 2 reasons:

1. Personal Loot hates me, it probably hates you too. With Master Looter there’s an almost guaranteed incremental gear progression.
2. Tactics: explaining our tactics and arguing their merits saps raid time. Pugs also frequently don’t give a flying monkey spunk for tactics if they can stand still for 8 mins and just twat the boss.

If we can get the numbers I’d love to give some Mythic content a crack after clearing HC – we’ve shown in the past that when we put our minds to it we can achieve some very good results, defeating encounters where the vast majority of raids at our gear levels fail.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that despite the length of time until Legion launches we’re not stopping and I hope you’re all coming along for the ride!

Raid Rules Review

In addition to our own concerns, lately we’ve received a growing number of concerns from the guild in general regarding the struggles we’ve encountered in progressing smoothly through the Normal difficulty levels and the lack of progression to Heroic. We share many of the same concerns and we hear what you’re telling us.

Veterans has been a social raiding guild for the last several years and has flourished in previous expansions but I think it’s fair to say that we’ve struggled at times throughout ‘Warlords’ for a varying number of reasons.

However, at the heart of it we believe that Veterans is a great community of people with a common goal of progressing and having fun doing it. As a case in point we were able to pull together this evening and down Assault on Heroic – we CAN do this and more!

To that end, we’re intending to review our approach to raiding with the goal of improving our raid progression and ensuring that everyone who participates in it with us will have a blast doing it.

As soon as the final decisions have been made and the changes clearly identified – you’ll be the first to know so please keep an eye on your medium of choice:

Some interesting changes here regarding personal loot and secondary stats but this bit is what *really* piqued my interest:

“we are structuring Hellfire Citadel so that the Item Level of the loot awarded by bosses increases as players proceed deeper into the zone, culminating in Archimonde—providing both the ultimate challenge and the ultimate reward.”

So – progression rewards stronger loot – bigger incentives for getting those clears asap.

Is everybody ready to push hard in 6.2? I know I am – bring it on.

Iron Maidens is on the cusp of going down and then we need a regular raid group to work on Furnace and Blackhand to complete the current tier content.

We’re good for tanks and healers in general so:

DPS – we need you and your tier loots from the last 3 bosses need you.

Bring your A-game and these bosses will all go down in the next two weeks – we have a good spread of skills across our guild and when we pull together we can achieve great results – we can do this, so let’s bosh it down and have a few beers and a few more laughs along the way.

BRF Heroic or Bust

Attendance is sliding and to mitigate we’ve been running BRF Normal rather than nothing at all or being forced to pug it.

This can’t continue – from now on we need everyone back online so we can focus solely on raiding Heroic BRF before 6.2 drops this summer.

The flex system has received some tweaks in the latest patch to address scaling issues for smaller group sizes so we’re now ideally positioned to crack on but we need the players to do it. Read about the tweaks here.

To assist in more accurate logging and analysis would raiders please install the AskMrRobot Addon available via Curse here.

The advantages are that the addons will communicate gear and talent specialisations to the log behind the scenes.

I’ve been running this addon for a few months and have noticed no adverse effects on framerate or other addons.

HighMaul Normal on Personal Loot

HighMaul Normal Guild Runs are now on Personal Loot and will award no DKP.

Progression through Heroic is going well and with the launch of BlackRock Foundry imminent the loot is now largely redundant for most Main Spec players leading to a disproportionate accumulation of DKP which we need to address.
